You can do it!

The good ol’ ‘You can do anything you put your mind to’ is a mantra handed down through the generations and practiced by many. A swift pass of words handed over in the hope of igniting encouragement or motivation.

We use it to spur on children when they are challenged with learning new skills or concepts. We cast it on friends that we feel need support. We remind our loved ones of it when they are endeavouring to achieve.

Then too, it can become a personal mantra to prompt yourself to surge forward in your pursuits. That little voice that pipes up when you are feeling exasperated and faltering. Sometimes annoyingly it insists of speaking up more than you would prefer. Even if you choose selective deafness, it won’t be long before you hear it again, unless you give up completely on your quests.

Immersing yourself into the belly of the mantra comes far easier to some folks. It is their first calling card when they may need a little reminder to get moving.  They are able to have it on repeat whilst they undertake their activities. Others are not so fortunate. These folks can have a slight tug-o-war between the mantra and the sought after outcome. They are temporarily stuck and perhaps even slightly resistant.

This is where the mind needs to take charge and assure of possibilities. By having the capacity to be willing to begin where you are right now, opens up many possibilities. The ability to comprehend leads to the possibility of learning. Learning leads to the possibility of action. Action leads to the possibility of outcomes. Outcomes lead to the possibilities of goal achievement.

So, my pre-mantra is – ‘Begin’. It is as simple as that. Begin where you are right now, right in this moment and you can do anything you put your mind to. It may not be smooth waters and results may not be immediate, however your patient self is your best friend here. Breathe! and begin. Breathe! and you can do it. I believe in you x
