Calling for Kindness

Kindness – the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate

There is a saying – “If you can be anything, be kind.” It is a good way to aspire to lead your life; from a place of kindness.

In recent days and weeks, I have witnessed the opposite. The behaviours have been selfish, inconsiderate, rude, manipulative, self-centred, superficial, and just plain mean.

People seem to have lost the art of interacting with one and another in a caring and compassion manner.

Kindness is what is needed, especially as uncertainty, chaos, and even fear, ripples across the globe.

It can be as simple as giving a smile to another, exercising patience, listening without interrupting the speaker. It does not need to be a grand gesture.

Small deeds of kindness lead to big impacts. From that very person you were kind to, it travels with that person who gives it to another. Then that person in turn passes it on. And so it goes, right through to the many that kindness flowed onto.

Kindness gives joy, is uplifting, and radiates positivity.

We all need this in our days, and the best thing we can do is lead from a kind heart with intention.

I implore you, that if you can be anything today, and tomorrow, and the day after, is to be a kind person. The world needs us.
