The Gentleman

The touch of a hand
A warm embrace
The scent of the man
His aging face

Eyes that glint
A smile so wide
The look of happiness
Concealing pain inside

Stoic in stance
Learned so long ago
Be upright and bright
He was told to show

Proper around ladies
Is how he acts
Not a swear word passes
With his dad, this was a pact

Courteous and considerate
Chivalry at play
Warm and kind
He goes about his day

Gentle by nature
Rich in character
Softly spoken is he
Not many are better

A man to emulate
A man to respect
A man to admire
A gentleman, we accept
A Gentleman
