Challenges – Thought of the Week

I originally posted this on my Mumma Sue’s View Facebook Page on Friday 6th of September, 2019

My thoughts for this week come to you in a simple post here, this time, rather than on my Blog. That leads into why; challenges.

This week, life has presented a couple of situations that are rare in my world, thankfully. One was more challenging; mentally. Both were emotional for me.

My empathic nature meant that the second situation, really had much of my energy directed to it. Here it was my emotional and physical energy that I pulled from the reserve tank. I did this as it was important to me, to do so.

Along with this, I have been attending a Writing Challenge that has a daily webinar at 5am my time. Sleep deprivation has been persistent.

Hence, I have had to let some things slide. I found this a challenge to do, as I like to ensure consistency and completion with what I undertake.

Self-care and self-compassion have needed to be the higher priority. As much as I would have been delighted if I could have pulled off a superwoman week, this just was not going to happen.

Something had to give and this week, it had to be writing my blog posts. I had the topics and the start of drafts, however, they were not enough to publish.

There will always be challenges and curve balls that life presents us with or throws at us from time to time. It is how we take care of ourselves and traverse the situation that matters.

Once upon a time, I would compromise my wellbeing. Nowadays, I value my wellness and capacity to recover from deprivation much more, so I place myself as the priority.

In saying this, I am disappointed yet proud of myself at the same time. Disappointed that I didn’t get my writing done and blog posts published. Proud for believing in me and honouring my own value.

The world shall not end because of my human experiences this week and not getting posts published. There is always another opportunity to try again, next week.

Take care one and all. Remember to look after yourself and not compromise your wellbeing for your own ideology. Those who care and matter, will understand. Those who don’t, that is their problem, not yours.

Have a wonderful evening and weekend. Be kind to you and those you come in contact with.
