Middle Ground – A Poem by Sue Nolan

Middle Ground by Sue Nolan

In the middle of somewhere

That is where I am

A past back behind me

The future far over there

In the middle of somewhere

That is where I am

Youth left in the years

Old age yet to appear

In the middle of somewhere

That is where I am

Active Mumma Bear slid away

Great Nanna hat yet to wear

In the middle of somewhere

That is where I am

Slaving for an income, no more

Time to answer my calling is here

In the middle of somewhere

That is where I am

Yearning time with loved ones and friends

Content in solitude, slowing down the gears

In the middle of somewhere

That is where I am

Pulling this way to something more

Pushing back, closing the door

In the middle of somewhere

That is where I am

A time and a place to be

Right in the middle, here
